About Me

For years, I had my heart set on a career in the medical field. I had not quite decided on the exact field, but I knew that I wanted to have a career in medicine. However, those plans would soon change. In the eighth grade, I was introduced to graphic design and production, and I fell in LOVE. I began to read every book and tutorial that I could get my hands on to increase my skill level in Adobe Photoshop. As my eighth grade year came to a close, I thought that I was entering my last days of doing anything with graphics. It was time to focus on my medical career in high school. I did the exact opposite though. During my freshman year, I designed t-shirts for RACE, designed

and printed multiple banners/signs for the school, designed the Miss CHS Pageant program, etc. The level of work I was doing with graphic design only increased as high school went along and my love for it increased. My selling point for this becoming my passion was the Marketing Principles class I was placed in my sophomore year. I knew beyond a doubt that this was my calling, marketing and graphic design.

Two years ago as I was battling on whether to go into the medical field or into marketing, I felt God revealing His plan for me, which turned out to be marketing and graphic design. However, He laid it on my heart to do marketing and graphic design within ministry. During my freshman year, I created MadDesign, a t-shirt/banner print and design company. When I learned about the Discover Project, I immediately knew I wanted to take this opportunity to create a business that impacted churches in the community, state, national, and, hopefully, global level through marketing and media.

Years earlier, I had learned of the Honors Mentorship Program and knew it was something that I wanted to particpate in when I became a junior and senior. The format of learning outside of the typical classroom completely fit my learning style. I was very confident with my application and interview with HMP and knew that this was exactly what I wanted to do.

To pursue my study of marketing, graphic design, media, and ministry, I thought the best fit would be to intern at my church, however, as the months went on, it was evident that I needed to grow some more. In order to this, I switched mentorships and began mentoring at Chestnut Mountain Church with Tim Tipon, the Administrative Pastor, serving as my mentor.

I have LOVED every minute of my mentorship at CMC since I began! I cannot begin to describe my love for it and this topic of my research, marketing the ministry. As you navigate these pages, you will find how God has been using me at Chestnut Mountain and also how Chestnut Mountain has allowed me to answer my essential question: How can I contribute to incorporate marketing in the ministry?

May all the honor glory and praise go to Him!
