Essential Question: How Can I Incorporate Marketing In The Ministry?

- Church membership and attendance is quickly declining.

- Smaller sized churches are becoming extinct due to megachurches.

Found that church membership and attendance rates grew more in nondenominational churches than they did in denominational churches.

- According to Webb (2012), the way to attract members is mainly by a church website, and one way to persuade members is by the congregation’s age.

- To retain members there must be media incorporated to keep communication between the church and members well organized.

- Forms Of Marketing: website, videos, graphics, social media, email, word of mouth, etc.

- The entire church can help to "market the ministry." Word of mouth is a huge way to market a church. If a potetnial visitor hears from a church member that the church is awful, the potential visitor is not going to visit even if the church has the best graphics compared to surrounding churches.

- There has to be direction (a mission and a vision) to base marketing strategies on. For example, Chestnut Mountain Church is a "people on mission," so their marketing strategies are going to consist of portraying that they are a church where they are focused on missions and spreading the Gospel.
